Research progress of erythropoietin-producing hepatocyte receptor A2 in the mechanism and treatment of gastric cancer
Objective To review the possible role of erythropoietin-producing hepatocyte receptor A2(EphA2)in the devel-opment and treatment of gastric cancer, and to provide new ideas for treatment of gastric cancer. Methods Relevant liter-ature was searched in China National Knowledge Infrasturcture(CNKI)and PubMed database from February,2000 to August,2023 with the keywords of"EphA2,gastric cancer, epidermal growth factor receptor(VEGF)".A total of 132 literature was retrieved.Inclusion criteria:(1)Literature on the structure, oncogenic function and regulatory mechanism of EphA2;(2)Literature on the research progress of EphA2 in gastric cancer.Exclusion criteria:(1)Articles with the above keywords but unrelated content;(2)Literature with similar or duplicate content.Finally,66 literature was includ-ed.Results EphA2 signaling pathways in tumors are complex and can be broadly divided into typical and atypical signa-ling pathways.EphA2 is highly expressed in gastric cancer, where it plays a role in angiogenesis,epithelial-mesenchymal transition, and cell proliferation of gastric cancer cells.EphA2 and VEGF have a synergistic effect on angiogenesis. The tumor-promoting effects of EphA2 can usually be inhibited by reducing EphA2 expression, promoting EphA2 degrada-tion,and blocking EphA2 activation. Conclusions EphA2 play a complex role in gastric cancer. With the deepening of re-search,EphA2 and VEGF dual target inhibition may be more effective in treating gastric cancer.
