Progress of zinc finger proteins in acute leukemia
Objective To summarize the biological functions and prognostic significance of zinc finger proteins(ZFPs)in a-cute leukemia,in order to provide useful references for clinical research. Methods The relevant literature included in CNKI,Pubmed and Wanfang databases from January 1,2003 to December 31,2023 were retrieved with the keywords"zinc finger proteins, acute leukemia, acute lymphoblastic leukemia, and acute myeloid leukemia".Inclusion criteria:(1)Research on the biological function of ZFPs in acute leukemia;(2)Research on the expression and prognostic relationship of ZFPs in acute leukemia.Exclusion criteria:(1)Literature with incomplete data;(2)Low quality literature.Finally,63 articles were included for analysis. Results ZFPs can promote the proliferation of acute leukemia cells by down-regulating the expres-sion of the p53 gene;Silencing the ZEB2 and ZBTB46 gene in the acute leukemia cell line can inhibits cell growth signifi-cantly.ZFPs inhibits the cell cycle of acute leukemia in G0/G1 or S phases by regulating cell cycle proteins(p21,p27 and Cyc-A2).ZFPs promote or inhibit acute leukemia cells'apoptosis by affecting apoptosis-related proteins(Bcl-2,Bax and Bcl-xl)expression.ZFPs play an important role in maintaining self-renewal of ESCs and LSCs.Abnormal expression of zinc finger proteins is a potential indicator for predicting the prognosis and survival rate of acute leukemia patients.Conclu-sion ZFPs promote the occurrence and development of acute leukemia by affecting cell proliferation, apoptosis, cell cycle, and leukemia stem cells. It has a great significance for the clinical prognosis of acute leukemia.
