Analysis of incidence and mortality of bladder cancer in urban and rural residents of Shandong Province,2018
Objective To analyze the incidence and mortality of bladder cancer registered in Shandong Province in 2018.Methods The incidence and mortality of bladder cancer were collected from 29 cancer registries of Shandong Province in 2018.After review and quality control, with using SAS 9.4 and Excel 2010 for statistical analysis, the incidence/mortali-ty rates,age-standardized rates, cumulative rates and truncated rates were calculated.Standardized rates were adjusted by Chinese standard population(ASR China)in 2000 and the Segi's population(ASR world). The chi-square test was used for the statistic analysis. Results The crude incidence rate of bladder cancer was 6.82/105 in Shandong cancer registration areas, the incidence of ASR China was 3.67/105 and incidence of ASR world was 4.22/105.The cumulative rate(0-74 years old)was 0.40%,and the truncated rate(35-64 years old)was 4.37/105.The incidence of male was higher than that of female, the difference was statistically significant(x2=753.50,P<0.01),but there was no significant difference between urban and rural incidence(x2=0.95,P=0.33).The incidence increased with age.The crude mortality rate of bladder cancer was 2.79/105 in Shandong cancer registration areas, the mortality of ASR China was 1.30/105 and mortal-ity of ASR world was 1.64/105.The cumulative rate(0-74 years old)was 0.11%,and the truncated rate(35-64 years old)was 0.83/105.The mortality of male was higher than that of female, and the difference was statistically significant(x2=328.47,P<0.01).The mortality of rural was higher than that of urban, and the difference was statistically signifi-cant(x2=16.79,P<0.01).The mortality rate increased with age. Conclusions The incidence and mortality of bladder cancer in Shandong Province in 2018 is higher in males than in females.Epidemiological surveillance and investigation of bladder cancer should be strengthened, and effective prevention and control and intervention should be carried out.
