Family Parenting and Adolescents'Prosocial Behavior in Digital Era
Based on the relevant data from"The Survey of Minors'Digital Life and Network Protection"in 2022,this article aims to explore the impacts of family parenting on adolescents'prosocial behavior in digital era and its action mechanisms.According to the findings,firstly,regarding adolescents'prosocial behavior in China,they present prominent features characterized by high popularity rate but low participation frequency;secondly,multiple regression analysis reveals that the strictness level of family parenting has significant positive impacts on adolescents'prosocial behavior;thirdly,the mechanism analysis shows that parental media intervention and children's social media use could act as parallel mediating effects between family parenting and adolescents'prosocial behavior;finally,the heterogeneity test confirms that children's age and families'class status have significant moderating effects on the direct path regarding the impacts of family parenting on adolescents'prosocial behavior.This study points out that if we consider prosocial behavior as an element of individuals'social development,strict and responsible parenting practices could alleviate inequalities in social development among children from low class.
