Higher Education Expansion,Fiscal Expenditure Investment,and Sense of Fair Educational Opportunity
Using relevant data from"Chinese General Social Survey"in 2005 and 2015,this article aims to examine the relationship between inhabitants'sense of fair educational opportunity and higher education expansion in China,and explore the distributive effect of higher education expansion from the perspective of educational expenditure investment.The analysis results reveal that there is no direct correlation between higher education expansion and the inhabitants'sense of fair educational opportunity;the fiscal expenditure investment is the important factor to influence sense of fair educational opportunity;in regions with larger increase in fiscal expenditure investment,higher education expansion is more likely to have positive impact on inhabitants'sense of fair educational opportunity.This study also indicates that fiscal expenditure investment would positively influence the inhabitants'sense of fair educational opportunity mainly through reducing their burden in higher education.
