"Displacement"and"Bridging":Illness Experiences and Coping Straregies of Young Cancer Patients
In recent years,the incidence of cancer has shown a tendency to be younger.As a major event that interrupts the course of life,cancer has become a"turning point"in the life course of young patients.The"patient role,""family role,"and"working role"converge,placing young people in a challenging position where they are unable to adhere to the standard social timetable.Cancer causes the mismatch between individual life-time and the age-based social order.Young patients by maintaining a"loose fit"with social norms,compensating for family responsibilities,and reorienting and reorganizing their work to cope with the situation.However,young people also need additional social support to help them in bridging individual life-time and social time.
