中学生家长内卷:期望与投入氛围的影响

本文基于中国教育追踪调查的两期数据考察了班级家长氛围对教育投入的影响.研究发现,班级家长的期望氛围和投入氛围均会对教育投入产生影响,其中投入氛围的影响更为显著.而且氛围的作用在不同网络融入度和阶层之间不存在显著差异,反映了当前中学生家长的普遍性内卷现象.此外,母亲受氛围的影响较大,体现了母亲对子女教育的密切关注.本文为理解教育投入的增加提供了微观解释进路,并从家长的视角阐释了当代中国的教育内卷问题.
Abstract
Based on the data of the China Education Panel Survey(CEPS),this paper examines the impact of class atmosphere on parents'educational investment.The analysis reveals that the class expectation atmosphere and the investment atmosphere serve as catalysts for parents to increase their academic-oriented educational investment,with the latter exerting a more pronounced effect.Notably,the influence of these atmospheres remains consistent across varying degrees of social integration and strata,underscoring the pervasive nature of parental involution in contemporary Chinese society.Conversely,mothers are more susceptible to these atmospheres,highlighting their intense focus on their children's education.This paper provides a micro-level explanation for the increasing educational investments and elucidates the issue of educational involution in contemporary China from the perspective of parents.
