Abstract Gaming as Skeuomorph:Female Virtual Avatar Conditions and Cognitive Communication in the Intelligence Era
This article discussed the topic of women and avatar technology in the intelligence era through the lens of digital inequality.It proposed that from the perspective of affordability,visibility and probability,the avatar was not merely an apparatus for mediating self-presentation,but also an imperative medium for being digital,impacting self-other cognition and communication behavior via research path from discourse to embodiment.The study emphasized the significance of employing feminist-HCI perspectives on the implicit influence of female avatar conditions and explored reflexivity beyond essentialism.In conclusion,it advocated for a paradigm shift towards cognitive communication to facilitate empirical research on a fine granularity basis and instantaneous effect,and further to forge a concept-oriented theoretical study dwelling on the confounding social facts and daily experiences in the study of female avatar interaction.
