At the beginning of the founding of New China, due to the completion of the land reform and the agricultural coopera-tive movement, the peasant associations, which had been maintained for three years, quietly receded in the face of the stability of the rural regime and the recovery of the national economy. With the advent of reform and opening up and the birth of socialist market econ-omy,peasant associations emerged again as a group organization representing peasants in order to protect their own interests. In the course of their retreat and rise, peasant associations have always, closely related to the general policies of the state, and defended the real needs of the peasants. As a peasant association representing the fundamental interests of peasants, can bring into play the effective-ness of various subjects of collaborative governance in the new era of rural revitalization.
