During the May Fourth period,the dissemination of Capital in China achieved unprecedented success,thus entered the center of Chinese political ideology and culture,and effectively promoted the new democratic turn of the Chinese revolution.The suc-cessful construction of the dissemination power of Capital during the May Fourth period was attributed to the diverse and complementary translation sponsoring strategies of the May Fourth elites.By sponsoring the translating of concise and explanatory texts to enhance the comprehensibility of the academic principles of Capital,introducing,commenting on,and excerpting articles in newspapers and maga-zines such as New Youth to enhance the breadth of dissemination,planning the translating and research activities of Marxist Research Associations and other organizations,giving speeches and lectures,and actively interacting with progressive individuals and groups to enhance the depth and strength of dissemination,the May Fourth elites strongly sponsored the dissemination of Capital in China.The means of translating sponsorship of the construction of the dissemination power of Capital during the May Fourth period has great practi-cal implications for the construction of international dissemination power of current Chinese Marxist works.
