The theory of political-administrative dichotomy has firmly established public administration as an autonomous disci-pline,significantly advancing scientific inquiry in this field.However,increasing integration of public administration research with the field of political science has sparked considerable controversy among numerous experts and scholars.The debate centers on whether re-search in public administration and political science should be mutually exclusive or if there should be mutual borrowing and collabora-tion between the two disciplines.At present,a discipline system of public administration with Chinese characteristics has been estab-lished,relevant research of public administration and political science should be investigated in the background of theoretical develop-ment history and times,rather than simply from the perspective of logical empiricism.In the future,research and development of these two disciplines will show a trend of integration of public adminstration and politics,ensure the theoretical and methodological integration and complementarity between the two disciplines.
