Further Discussion on the Use of Dunhao between Quotation Marks or Book Title Marks in Publishing and Dissemination
Although GB/T 15834-2011 General Rules for Punctuation has been in effect for over a decade, the regulations re-garding the use of dunhao between quotation marks or book title marks are still controversial, especially under the influence of quality inspection mechanisms in publishing, communication, and related fields. Some opinions are fierce, and the underlying reasons and so-lutions are worth exploring.By using methods such as text linking, process construction, and comparative analysis,it is found that the logic behind this provision is actually"omitted",and the condition is that"the content indicated by quotation marks or book title marks should be the entirety of the parallel subject rather than a part".Compared to these connotations, most of the controversial arguments are difficult to establish. The reason for the ongoing debate is largely due to subjective attitudes, including attitudes towards execution, understanding, and discussion, rather than the regulations themselves.Correct personal attitude, then grasp the substantive character-istics,supplemented by the principle of consistency, can solve the difficulties in the application of the discussed regulations.
