From the Perspective of Inquisitive Semantics to Analyse the Collocations of Interrogative Object Clauses with Verbs
In Chinese,when the main sentence is declarative,the collocations of interrogative object clauses and verbs are differ-ent.Based on the perspective of inquisitive semantics,verbs are divided into rogative verbs,uninterrogative verbs,general responsive verbs,weakly exhaustive narrative responsive verbs.And the collocations of various interrogative object clauses with four types of verbs are further described.Wh-question clauses can be paired with rogative verbs,general responsive verbs and weakly exhaustive narrative responsive verbs.A-not-A question clauses and disjunctive question clauses can be paired with rogative verbs and general responsive verbs.Yes-no question clauses cannot be paired with rogative verbs,uninterrogative verbs,general responsive verbs and weakly ex-haustive narrative responsive verbs.Finally,the characteristics of various interrogative object clauses were explored from the perspec-tives of exhaustive and inquisitive.
