A Study on the Consciousness of the Chinese National Community in the Ming Dynasty's Tu Si's Expedition——Taking the Recruitment of"Baojing Tusi"as an Example
In the long history of China,the common sense of identity of the Chinese nation has been continuously enhanced and gradually sublimated in many fields such as politics,economy and culture.As the political elite of a minority society,Tusi is usually al-so the military elite of its corresponding nationality,and the recruitment of ethnic minorities he participates in provides important evi-dence for the multi-ethnic military activities organized by the central government.This study takes Baojing chieftain as a case study and summarizes the Ming dynasty chieftain's response to conscription.It is believed that Baojing chieftain's participation in various types of central government's response to conscription demonstrated his strong military strength and profound national identity with the central government.He consciously integrated into the Chinese national community,promoted the transformation of the Chinese nation from a"free"community to a"conscious"community,and accelerated the historical process of"Southwest Barbarians"becoming members of the Chinese national community.
