An Analysis on Degree Adverb"Hen"of Yiyang Dialect
Justas Mandarin Chinese,the degree adverb"hen"in Yiyang dialect can be used as both an adverbial and a comple-ment,while"hen"in Yiyang dialect which is different from other dialects may form a special pattern like"hen+X+[pa]+X".The sound of"hen"varies with syntactic functions and semantics.As a result,"hen"can be read as"[xei45]","[xei21]"and"[xei41]",which implies different meanings and syntactic functions.The sound change of"hen"lies in the change of tone value with-out transforming the initial consonant and vowel.Such phonetic phenomenon of''hen"in YJD is neither literal and colloquial readings nor tone sandhi,but a polyphonic phenomenon caused by internal inflexion.
