The problem of"forgiveness"in Lu Xun's novels and its significance
Regarding the consciousness of confession in Lu Xun's novels, previous studies have mostly been based on Lu Xun's position.By thinking about the relationship between confession and forgiveness from the perspective of"the other",it can be found that the confession of"I"cannot be forgiven by the protagonist of the novel in essence. The confession cannot make up for the trauma"I"caused the protagonist, and the protagonist's forgiveness and forgetting of mistakes is also difficult to repair the time experience in initially. As the subject of confession,"I"am present in space. However,as the subject of forgiveness, the protagonist is absent due to death. The implied author replaces the confession of the perpetrator does not conform to the original meaning of forgiveness, which e-ventually becomes"shout"and"hesitation"of Lu Xun in the face of the unrepentance of the perpetrator. The paradox of forgiveness does not deny Lu Xun's expression of repentance. The desperate pursuit of forgiveness for"justice"is pointing to Lu Xun's"de-spair"spirit that is approaching the limit of"hope".The cross-cultural dialogue between Lu Xun and Derrida is also illuminated in this direction.
