Under the background of the implementation of the rural revitalization strategy in the new era,Hui style vernacular ar-chitecture has become an important object of concern in the practice and exploration of the modernization development of"Big Huangs-han"area because of its rich cultural connotation and historical value.At the same time,as a typical historical and cultural relic,Hui style vernacular architecture is inevitably faced with the dilemma of both protection and rational development,and the lack of relevant theoretical basis and practical guidance system with operability.This paper aims to explore the protection and rational development of Hui-style vernacular and architecture from the perspective of rural revitalization in the field of environmental design.By analyzing the historical evolution,cultural characteristics,protection status,value reconstruction,policy response and other aspects of Hui-style ver-nacular architecture,it is expected to form a path and reference system for future rural revitalization practice.In order to promote the re-vitalization of Chinese countryside and the development of traditional architectural culture.
