A Study on the Relationships among English Major Students'Well-being,L2 Grit and English Language Achievement
Based on a questionnaire survey among 255 English major freshmen,this study explored the relationships among Chi-nese EFL learners'well-being,L2 grit and foreign language achievement by means of correlation analysis and linear regression analy-sis.The results showed that:(1)well-being is positively correlated with L2 grit;(2)both well-being and L2 grit are positively corre-lated with learner's English scores on the National College Entrance Exam,while negatively correlated with their self-rated English pro-ficiency;(3)"engagement","meaning"and"achievement"in well-being significantly and positively predict"perseverance of effort"in L2 grit,while"achievement"significantly and positively predicts"consistency of interest";(4)well-being and L2 grit have no pre-dictive effect on the English scores on the National College Entrance Exam,but have significantly negative predictive effect on learners'self-rated English proficiency.
