Research on the Relationship between Executive Compensation and Total Factor Productivity
Since"total factor productivity"was mentioned in the report of the 19th CPC National Congress,China's economic de-velopment has taken this as the goal,and the government,enterprises and scholars have focused on the study of how to evaluate and improve"total factor productivity".As the main decision-making participants of enterprises,senior executives directly and indirectly affect the development of enterprises.If the enthusiasm of senior executives can be stimulated,it is conducive to the promotion role of senior executives on enterprises.This paper selects the data of listed industrial companies in China from 2018 to 2022 as research sam-ples,explores the impact of executive compensation and R&D investment on total factor productivity,and finds ways to improve total factor productivity and further promote the better performance of enterprises.It is concluded that the increase of executive compensation can promote the development of total factor productivity of enterprises to a certain extent,and R&D investment plays a certain interme-diary effect.
