Chinese-American female writer Fae Myenne Ng's Bone reconstructs masculinity while highlighting the glamour of femininity.The masculinity of the male characters in the novel can be summarised as the masculinity of heroic artisan and the mascu-linity of self-made man,which manifests the cultural characteristics of American masculinity,namely,dynamism,publicity,same-sex interaction and physicality,and embodies the collision of concepts between different races and cultures,and reflects the problems of American social history.
