Museums are of great significance to meet the spiritual and cultural life of the people,enhance cultural self-confi-dence,and build the modern civilization of the Chinese nation.Cultural creative products and industries are important means for muse-ums to improve their own competitiveness and improve their social service functions.Compared with large museums,the cultural and creative products and industrial development of some small and medium-sized museums in China still have a large space for develop-ment.With reference to the evolution of museum cultural and creative products at home and abroad and the development course of mu-seum cultural and creative industry,the paper points out the difficulties of cultural and creative industry of small and medium-sized museums in China from three aspects:product development,marketing field and product management.The dilemma of cultural and creative industry of small and medium-sized museums in China lies in:insufficient innovation of cultural and creative products,weak awareness of product marketing,and shortage of museum funds.Furthermore,it puts forward the countermeasures to develop the cultur-al and creative industry of small and medium-sized museums in China by creating characteristic cultural and creative products,perfec-ting marketing service system and increasing capital investment,etc.
