Investigating the Mechanisms Influencing the Development of Teachers'Interdisciplinary Teaching Competencies
Interdisciplinary teaching is a key difficulty in the teaching reform of the new curriculum, and the mechanism of influence of interdisciplinary teaching ability of primary and secondary school teachers is a key issue worth studying. This study constructs the hypothesis of the influence path of teachers'interdisciplinary teaching ability based on the literature research, explores the relationship between 11 elements from the four levels of teachers'internal structure of interdisciplinary teaching ability, personal factors, pedagogical factors, and environmental factors, and uses structural equation modeling to analyze and validate the constructed influence path model and hypothesis. The study found that:from the analysis of internal structure, both interdisciplinary teaching knowledge and interdisciplinary teaching affectivity positively affect teachers'interdisciplinary teaching practice,in which interdisciplinary teaching knowledge has a greater effect than interdisciplinary teaching affectivity.Among the personal factors, teachers'professional commitment contributes to interdisciplinary teaching practice by affecting interdisciplinary teaching knowledge and affectivity, and teachers'sense of innovation and self-efficacy are positively correlated with professional commitment.Among the pedagogical factors, tool scaffolding affects teaching practice by influencing teachers'interdisciplinary teaching knowledge and affect, and teaching experience affects interdisciplinary teaching practice by enhancing teachers'interdisciplinary knowledge, both of which directly affect teachers'interdisciplinary teaching practice. There is a correlation between classroom management and tool scaffolding and teaching experience.Among the environmental factors, the creation of a school culture of interdisciplinary teaching affects teachers'interdisciplinary teaching practices by influencing their interdisciplinary teaching affectivity, and there is a positive correlation between resource support and culture creation. Finally, the findings of the study are discussed and recommendations for the development of teachers'interdisciplinary teaching competence are targeted at four levels.
