Development and Implementation of Assessment Instruments for Scientific Inquiry Abilities in Junior High School
Innovating the assessment of students'scientific inquiry abilities is a crucial step in advancing the reform of science education and fostering breakthroughs in cultivating talents for technological innovation.This study innovates the evaluation and teaching concepts of scientific inquiry,focusing on the core issue of"how to develop and apply assessment tools for scientific inquiry abilities."Following the spiral development approach of"theoretical research—tool development—practical exploration",this research has distilled three basic propositions regarding the relationship between scientific inquiry evaluation and teaching.It has formulated seven high-quality standards for the key abilities of scientific inquiry in junior high school,developed a visualized technical path and tools for the development of scientific inquiry ability assessments,constructed four ways to embed the instruments into scientific inquiry,and refined multiple inquiry cases across four lesson types.A preliminary intelligent assessment platform and system for scientific inquiry abilities have been established,providing a new paradigm for assessing and developing students'scientific inquiry abilities within the context of core literacy.
