Good Textbooks in the Eyes of Students:Characteristics,Implications,and Enlightenment
Paying attention to the characteristics of good textbooks from students'perspectives is the starting point of textbook compilation.This study adopts a qualitative research paradigm,based on the interview data from 30 students in grades 7-9.Assisted by Nvivo 12 software,the descriptive data about the characteristics and implications of good textbooks from students'perspectives were analyzed.The results showed that the characteristics of good textbooks expected by students,in order of importance,are:interestingnesss,scientificity,openness,and appropriateness.Future textbook compilation needs to consider students'expectation of good textbooks,aiming to stimulate their interest in learning and emphasizing the development of student agency.
