Constructing and Applying a New Framework for Analyzing Core Competency-oriented Science Textbook Units
Textbooks are an important intermediary for translating core competency goals into teaching practices,and are important resources for both teachers'instruction and students'learning.The analysis and compilation of science textbooks should be competency-oriented.However,existing researches on the analysis of science textbooks lack in understanding core competency objectives as well as related analytical frameworks and methods.The analysis framework of core competency-oriented science textbook units contains five sub-dimensions of"content-curriculum standards alignment"and five sub-dimensions of"pedagogical transformation".By applying this framework to analyze science textbook units in the United States,specific strategies for integrating core competencies into the compilation of science textbooks are distilled,providing references for revising core competency-oriented science textbooks in China.
