隐微与显白:卢梭"共时性因材施教"的双重教育意图

卢梭作为西方传统隐微术写作的传承者,在现代性的转折点上承担着双重教育使命:既要教诲哲人从事科学和文艺,从而过上更高的哲学生活,又要让心性不足的大众放弃科学与文艺,从而过上道德生活.如此,既避免了哲学的大众化、降格化,又避免了大众的欲望化、原子化,最终避免了哲学与大众德性的双重败坏.由此,卢梭采用"书写"的教育方式,就必须超出文本书写的局限才能达到苏格拉底式对话的多层次教育效果.即在同一个文本中,对不同的人说不同的话,从而进行不同的教育,最终不同的人领受各自的恰当教益.这种教育哲学思想不同于日常的"继时性因材施教",可称之为"共时性因材施教".此概念有助于澄清卢梭教育哲学的真正意图.
Esoteric and Exoteric:Rousseau's Dual Educational Intentions of"Simultaneous Teaching in Accordance with Students'Aptitude"
Rousseau,as an inheritor of the western traditional esoteric writing,undertakes the dual educational missions at the turning point of modernity.He not only aims to teach philosophers to engage in science and the arts,thus living a higher philosophical life,but also encourage the masses,who lack intellectual rigor,to abandon science and the arts in favor of a moral life.In this way,he seeks to avoid the popularization and degradation of philosophy,as well as the hedonization and atomization of the masses,ultimately preventing the mutual corruption of philosophy and public virtue.As a result,Rousseau adopts a mode of"writing"in education that goes beyond the limitations of textual writing to achieve the multi-level educational effect of Socratic dialogue.This entails speaking different messages to different people within the same text,thereby providing distinct educations so that individuals receive appropriate teachings according to their capacities.This kind of educational philosophy is different from the conventional"sequential teaching in accordance with students'aptitude"and can be termed"simultaneous teaching in accordance with students'aptitude".This concept helps clarify the true intent of Rousseau's educational philosophy.
