Theoretical Analysis and Empirical Test of Agro-tourism Integration for Rural Habitat Improvement
Comprehensively improving the rural habitat is one of the important contents of rural revitalization.Based on the perspective of agro-tourism integration, the impact of agritourism integration on the rural habitat(including the ecological environment, the production environment, and the living environment)and its charac-teristics are empirically investigated based on the panel data of 251 prefectural-level cities in China during the period from 2010 to 2022.The results show that the integration of agro-tourism has a significant positive impact on rural habitat, which mainly comes from the improvement of rural ecological environment and living environment by the integration of agro-tourism.It also reveals that the impact of agro-tourism integration on rural habitats exhibits regional heterogeneity.Notably, the environmental benefits derived from agro-tourism integration are significantly higher in central and western regions compared to the eastern region.Furthermore,it finds that the agro-tourism integration has a positive spatial spillover effect on rural habitats. The develop-ment of agro-tourism not only leads to improvements in the rural living environment within the local city but also exerts a beneficial pull on neighboring cities.Based on this, policy suggestions such as strengthening policy guidance, emphasizing regional differences, and strengthening exchanges and cooperation are proposed to provide theoretical support and policy reference for decision-makers.
