Preliminary analysis on field test of spray cooling technology
The field test of spray cooling technology was carried out in order to improve the local climate in the high-temperature days in the summer of Chongqing in 2011.The results show that mist spray on the public square in high-temperature weather can decrease the temperature and improve the human body comfort index obviously.The cooling-down range was limited in the morning but wide in the afternoon.An obvious vertical change existed in cooling effects,the widest cooling-down range was on the ground surface,the second was at 1.5 m and the minimum was at 2.2 m.The influence of spray technics on cooling effects was evident.Different types of nozzle head had different effects on the reducing scope of ground surface temperature,but had no effects on the air temperatures at other altitudes.There existed obvious relation between cycle time of "spray-stop" and the change of environment temperature.The longer the spray time was,the larger the declining scope of environment temperature was.The cooling effects depended evidently on the environment wind field.In this test,the cooling effects were better under easterly wind than those under westerly one.Moreover,in general,the cooling effect reduced with the acceleration of wind speed.
