Quality control on reflectivity factor data of 35GHz-cloud radar
Floating non-cloud particles (aerosol, insect, suspended solid) in the atmosphere and the inherent noise of radar components all have an important effect on retrieving cloud microphysics and macroscopical information by cloud radar quantitative estimation. For the purpose of eliminating the noise influence on the quality of data, and of elevating the quality of the cloud radar data, the statistical analysis on reflectivity's echo characters about scattered noise, aerosol and cloud-particle detected by the new generation Doppler and depolarization 8.6 mm cloud-radar was conducted. These echoes can be classified by the characteristic values, and the reliable data tended be persisted. The results show that this method can discriminate cloud particle and non-cloud particle better and improve the data quality of cloud radar reflectivity quite well.
