Possible Exploration Paths for the Unique Causes of Yang'an in Shui Society:On the Important Value of Inscriptions in Ethnic Regions
The Shui ethnic group in Yang'an area of Sandu County in Guizhou Province have a certain uniqueness in the Shui society due to their language,festivals,customs,geographical space,etc.To understand the generation process of these characteristics and clarify the historical context of various groups in Yang'an area,it is necessary to sort out its institutional evolution.On this basis,combined with the family genealogy and the mother son tombstones discovered in Yang'an in the 19th year of the Jiaqing reign(1814),as well as some tombstones during the early Republic of China,it can be traced back to the origion of Xie,one of the three major fami-lies in Yang'an.Located in a remote area,Yang'an provides a special space for its cultural uniqueness to some extent.As for the for-mation process of the interaction history and uniqueness among its various ethnic groups,a reasonable explanation needs to be made through the excavation of more inscriptions and literature within the territory and the joint participation of more disciplines.
