An Application Study on VMware Virtualization Technology in University Computer Laboratories
With the continuous development of information technology, university computer laboratories are crucial venues for cultivating students'practical skills and promoting scientific research innovation. However, traditional laboratory environments are plagued by issues such as wastage of hardware resources, difficulties in configuring experimental environments, and challenges related to security and stability. The rapid advancement of virtualization technology has propelled the adoption of cloud desktop laboratories in universities, which offer advantages including information security, reliability, convenient maintenance, energy efficiency, and swift deployment. This paper investigates and analyzes VMware virtualization technology, complemented by relevant application examples,to propose an architecture for university computer laboratories based on VMware virtualization. This architecture supports distributed deployment, business migration, and expansion, effectively addressing the utilization demands of university computer laboratories under virtualized environments.
