Under the uncertain economic environment, how to improve the ability of enterprises to resist risks is an important issue for all enterprises. From a spatial perspective, this paper selects 279 listed manufacturing enterprises in China from 2010 to 2022 as a sample to study the impact of enterprise flexibility on enterprise risk resistance. It is found that the flexibility of manufacturing enterprises has a positive and significant impact on the ability to resist risks, and there is an obvious spatial spillover effect;the results of the spatial threshold model test show that there is a significant spatial threshold effect on the impact of enterprise size and enterprise age on enterprise flexibility.Through the heterogeneity test,it is found that enterprises flexibility has the greatest effect on the risk resistance of manufacturing enterprises in central and western regions, and the effect on the risk resistance of manufacturing enterprises in eastern regions is relatively low. Therefore, manufacturing enterprises should attach importance to their flexibility development, and strengthen the exchange and cooperation between enterprises,so as to enhance the ability of enterprises to resist risks.
