The management mode of online labor platform with algorithm technology as the core has attracted wide attention of scholars. However, there is a lack of research on the mechanism and boundary conditions of the effect of algorithm management on work performance of platform workers.Based on the job demand-resource model, this study constructed a dual intermediary model of the effect of online labor platform algorithm management on work performance through job autonomy and emotional exhaustion, and explored the boundary conditions of the interaction mechanism between them. The analysis results of 292 questionnaires from two major domestic food delivery platforms show that algorithm management negatively affects workers'work performance, among which job autonomy and emotional exhaustion play an intermediary role between algorithm management and work performance.Challenging time pressures will not only weaken the negative impact of algorithm management on job autonomy, but also weaken the positive impact of algorithm management on emotional exhaustion. Therefore, this paper proposes that the managers of online labor platforms should scientifically formulate relevant algorithm rules to promote the"algorithm for good",provide supportive management measures to alleviate workers'emotional exhaustion, and guide workers to form challenging cognition and set challenging goals.
