Urbanization is an important part of Chinese modernization.In order to achieve high-quality urbanization development,China has put forward development path for city-industry integration.To study how city-industry integration can promote urban economic development,based on the construction of a mathematical model of city-industry integration and urban economic growth and the analysis of the influencing mechanism,this paper first uses the coupling coordination degree model to estimate the city-industry integration degree of 254 cities in China from 2003 to 2021,and then uses the fixed-effect model,2SLS model and mechanism test to conduct an empirical test.The results show that the degree of city-industry integration in China's prefecture-level cities is constantly improving,showing the characteristics of high degree in the east and low degree in the west,and there is still a large space for development in the future.City-industry integration can promote the development of urban economy by promoting the level of industrial agglomeration,expanding the market potential and improving the level of human capital.Therefore,in the future,China's urbanization construction should focus on the integration of industry and city,rationally formulate development policies,change development ideas in a timely manner based on local conditions,and promote regional cooperation to achieve joint construction,shared benefits and win-win results.
