环境不确定性如何影响企业ESG表现——基于内部控制和绿色创新视角

摘要
在可持续发展理念下,如何提高企业ESG表现是整个社会都十分关心的话题.本文基于中国A股上市公司 2011-2022 年的面板数据,实证检验了环境不确定性如何影响企业ESG表现.研究表明,企业环境不确定性程度增大会降低企业的ESG评分,该结论在进行替换被解释变量衡量方式、采用固定效应模型以及解释变量滞后一期后依然成立.通过机制分析还发现,环境不确定性会通过降低企业的内部控制治理以及绿色创新进而影响企业ESG表现.因此,企业应当密切关注所面临内外部环境的变动情况,建立环境监测机制,重视绿色创新所能带来的效应,建立健全内部控制制度,从而降低环境不确定性对企业ESG表现的负面影响,推动企业ESG发展,提高企业的市场竞争力以及抗风险能力.
Abstract
Under the concept of sustainable development,how to improve the ESG performance of enterprises is a great concern for the entire society.Based on the panel data of China's A-share listed companies from 2011 to 2022,this paper empirically tests how environmental uncertainty influences the ESG performance of enterprises.The study shows that the increasing uncertainty of enterprise environment will reduce the ESG score of enterprises,and this conclusion still holds after replacing the explanatory variable measurement method,adopting a fixed-effect model,and lagging the explanatory variables for one period.Through mechanism analysis,it is also found that environmental uncertainty can influence the ESG performance of enterprises by reducing their internal control governance and green innovation.Therefore,it is necessary for enterprise to closely monitor the changes in the internal and external environment to establish an environmental monitoring mechanism,attach importance to the effects of green innovation,and establish a sound internal control system,so as to reduce the negative impact of environmental uncertainty on the ESG performance of enterprises,promote the development of ESG of enterprises,and improve the market competitiveness and anti-risk ability of enterprises.
