Biological Effects of Space Mutants of Stylosanthes guianensis
A botanic observation was made of all the 85 mutants selected from the generation SP5 ofstylosanthes guianensis 'Reyan 2', the seeds of which had been carried into outer space by a recoverablesatellite. The result shows that all 14 indicators used for observation had different variations and variedtowards either positive or negative directions. For example, some mutants had white flowers, set flowersdistinctly earlier or late, or had lighter color stems. Of all these indicators, plant height, weight per thousand grains and leaf length and width were highly significantly different among mutants.
