Different Bud Direction of Horizontal Planting Cutting on the Yield of Cassava
The cassava variety South China No.8 was used in the study, The results showed that the yield was significantly influenced by the bud direction while planting and the yield rank of fresh root, dry root, starch was in the order from high to low: South, Western, North, Eastern. The highest yield of South bud direction was improved by 38.8% for fresh root yield, 36.3% for dry root yield and 34.8% for starch yield than CK; the secondary highest yield of Western bud direction was improved by 24.9% for fresh root yield, 24.5% for dry root yield and 24.6% for starch yield than CK. So, the bud direction of South, Western or South-Western were recommended for horizontal planting cassava in China.
