Effects of Straw Coverage Doses on Yield, Quality and Profit Parameters with Winter Potato
This study aimed at through Held experiment with straw coverage, probing into the effects of straw coverage doses on the yield, the rate of marketable potato and economic profit in order to determine straw coverage doses suitable to local conditions. The main results showed that the influences of different doses on the yield of winter potato were significant at 0.05 level, in which both marketable potato yield and total yield of the treatment with 4 500 kg/hm2 (S300) was the highest, but no marked differences (P>0.05) between the yields with S300, S400 (6 000 kg/hm2) and S500 (7 500 kg/hm2) were found (p>0.05). There existed no significant differences among all the treatments in terms of the rate of marketable potato. As for economical profit, that of S300 was the most, higher than those with both S200 (3 000 kg/hm2) and SO (0 kg/hm2) significantly (p<0.05), but no significant difference compared with S500 and S400 (p>0.05); and there was no marked difference between S200 and SO with economical profit. Considering the above integrated effects of straw coverage, it was shown that the coverage dose range between 4 50O~7 500 kg/hm2 was appropriate in the conditions under consideration.
