Optimization of Extracting Technology and Antioxidant Activity in vitro of Polyphenol from Pericarp of Baccaurea ramiflora Lour.
The water bath shaking-assisted extracting technology was aimed to optimize and antioxidant activity in vitro of polyphenol from the pericarp of Baccaurea ramiflora Lour.was investigated in the study. The extracting technology was optimized using response surface methodology. The evaluation of antioxidant activity was carried out by DPPH,ABTS and superoxide anion radical scavenging assays in comparison to VC.The optimum extraction conditions were determined as 63 min,65 ℃,66% and 42∶1 (mL/g) for extraction time, extraction temperature, ethanol concentration and liquid-material ratio, respectively. The experimentally observed yield of polyphenol under the optimized conditions was 31.2 mg/g on average, near the predicted value of 31.0 mg/g,showing the practicability of the optimized process. In DPPH,ABTS and superoxide anion free radical scavenging assays, the IC50 value of the polyphenol extracted from the pericarp of B.ramiflora Lour.were 12.3,2.35 and 0.141 mg/mL,and the maximum scavenging rates was 90.6%,99.1% and 61.9%,respectively.Moreover,these results revealed that the pericarp of B.ramiflora Lour.possessed strong antioxidant activity.
