Nitrogen Rate on Root Growth and Heading of Pepper
In order to evaluate the nitrogen (N) rate on root growth and heading of pepper, the experiment was conducted with five N treatments in pots. The five N treatments named N1,N2,N3,N4 and N5 were 0,1,2,3 and 4 g N per pot, respectively. The results showed that appropriate N rate increased SPA D reading, dry matter, root growth, and flower of pepper.Length, surface area, length per volume, and volume of pepper mot increased in appropriate N rate.Appropriate N rate promoted early flowering and more flower spike of popper. However, excessive N rate reduced SPAD reading, dry matter, mot growth, and flower of pepper.Length, surface area, length per volume, and volume of pepper root decreased in excessive N rate. And excessive N rate delayed flowering and reduced the flower spike. Therefore, the appropriate N rate is 1 to 2 g per pot of pepper in this container experiment.
