Cultivation Technology of Hericium erinaceus Using Pine and Chinese Fir Sawdust-derived Spent Compost of Flammulina velutipes
To reduce the production cost of Hericium erinaceus and to better utilize spent substrate of Flammulina velutipes produced from factory cultivation with mixed sawdust of pine and Chinese fir as the mainly ingredients, the composition of the spent was determined and its utilization for H.erinaceus cultivation was evaluated. The results showed that the spent consisted of 9.8% crude protein,32.3% crude fibre,1.2% crude fat,17.9% lignin, and 7.7% ash.The formula 2 consisting of 38% spent substrate,20% cottonseed hull,30% corn cob,10% wheat bran, and 2% calcium carbonate was optimal for H.erinaceus production, which gave mushroom yield improvement of 9.67%,25.00%,6.12%,and 8.40%,and profit increase of 115.91%,48.44%,46.15%,and 25.00%,respectively as compared with those of the control, formula 1,3,and 4.The present study provides scientific base for H.erinaceus cultivation using the pine and Chinese fir sawdust speut substrate after F.velutipes cultivation.
