Effect of Axial Air Injection on the Kinematic Characteristics of Oil Film of High-speed Rolling Bearing with Oil Interruption
The oil film motion characteristics in the high-speed bearing chamber after oil interruption directly affect the oil breakage resistance of the bearings. In order to further improve the oil breakage resistance of the existing bearings,a combination of VOF and multiple reference system models was adopted to systematically investigate the effects of jet posi-tion,jet flow rate, and jet angle variations on the fluid flow and temperature field in the bearing cavity after oil breakage. The results show that, within the range of jet flow studied, the change of jet flow rate has a small effect on the oil film movement in the bearing cavity after oil breakage, while the jet position and jet angle have an important effect on the oil film movement characteristics in the bearing cavity after oil breakage. When the jet position is on the upper side of the cage and the jet angle is 0°,it can slow down the loss of lubricant in the bearing cavity,so that the oil is distributed more uni-formly,which results in better lubrication and cooling performance.
