Study on the Variation Law of Oil Groove Leakage in Multi-groove Sliding Bearings
The excessive oil leakage in the oil groove of multi-groove sliding bearings may lead to low lubrication system pressure. To optimize the structural design of multi-groove sliding bearings, the influence of working conditions and oil groove structural design changes on the oil groove leakage was analyzed.STAR-CCM+software was used for transient CFD calculation, and by adjusting the speed of the sliding bearing, the oil supply pressure, the number of oil grooves and galler-ies,and the depth of the axial oil groove, the variation law of oil groove leakage was studied. The results show that the rota-ting speed of the sliding bearing has little effect on the average oil groove leakage. The average oil groove leakage decreases with the decrease of oil supply pressure, and the decreasing rate gradually accelerates.Reducing the number of oil grooves or galleries can both reduce the average oil groove leakage, and the former has a large impact and the latter has a small im-pact.As the axial groove depth decreases, the average oil groove leakage decreases approximately linearly at first, and then slows down gradually after reaching a certain depth value. It is a better design scheme to retain only one axial oil groove and reducing its depth to 0.4 mm.The research results provide reference for the low oil leakage design of multi-groove sliding bearing.
