Influence of Activated Carbon Powder on Rollability of AZ31 Magnesium Alloys
The effect of activated carbon powder on the grain size of AZ31 magnesium alloy was studied by metallographic microscope, and the effect of grain refinement on the rolling deformation ability of AZ31 magnesium alloy was comparatively studied. The results show that the average grain size of the cast AZ31magnesium alloy is 325 μm,and the grain size decreases to 183 μm after the addition of 1wt%activated carbon powder. When AZ31 magnesium alloys are rolled at 400℃,obvious edge cracks appear in the second pass rolling, and the edge cracks become more serious with the increase of rolling passes. When AZ31-1wt%C magnesium alloys are rolled at 400℃,edge cracks appear in the third pass rolling, and AZ31-1wt%C magnesium alloys show better rollability than that of AZ31 magnesium alloy.
