Research on Friction Coefficient in Hot Forging Process of TC18 Titanium Alloy
In the hot forging process of TC18 titanium alloy, the friction coefficient has a significant effect on the qualified rate of forgings and the service life of dies.In order to accurately measure the friction coefficient under different technological conditions, based on the method of technological experiments combined with Deform-3D finite element analysis, the friction coefficient calibration curve was established, the friction coefficient during the upsetting process of TC18 titanium alloy ring under different lubrication conditions was measured, and the temperature field, strain field and metal flow were analyzed. The results show that in the hot forging process of TC18 titanium alloy, the friction coefficient under dry friction condition is the biggest, which is 0.70-0.80,the friction coefficient under composite cloth lubrication condition is the smallest, which is 0.30-0.40,the friction coefficient under insulation cotton+fiber cloth lubrication condition is 0.4,and the friction coefficient under insulation cotton lubrication condition is 0.60-0.70.
