Ag-30vol%Ti3SiC2 composite was fabricated by hot-press sintering, and Ti3SiC2 particles were uniformly distributed on Ag matrix without agglomeration and diffusion. The arc erosion was applied on the Ag-30vol%Ti3SiC2 composites with the discharge voltage at 3,6,8,10 kV consequently. The results show that with the increase of discharge voltage, the arc energy increases, the arc diffusion becomes more obvious, the ablation area increases gradually, and the ablation pit becomes deeper and deeper. The morphologies of spattered, raised, blowhole and"crack"are formed on the surface of the Ag-30vol%Ti3SiC2 material, and after arc erosion,Ag-30vol%Ti3SiC2 composites are decomposed and oxidized into AgO,Ag2O,SiO2 and TiO2.
