Influence of Annealing Technology on Mechanical Properties of Magnesium/Aluminum Composite Plate
The effects of annealing treatment process on the microstructure and mechanical properties of Mg/Al composite plates were studied. The mechanical properties of the composite plates were tested by electronic universal testing machine. The microstructure of the composite plates was characterized by Olympus GX51 metallographic microscope and JSM-6510A scanning electron microscope. The results show that the tensile strength and hardness of the composite plates decrease after annealing, and the elongation is higher than that of the original sample. The longer the annealing time, the higher the temperature, the lower the tensile strength, the higher the elongation and the better the plasticity of the magnesium/aluminum composite plates. The fracture morphologies of the composite plates show that the aluminum dimples increase after annealing treatment, the microcracks at the fracture surface of magnesium side disappear, and a few dimples appear. The annealing treatment changes the fracture mode of the transition layer at the interface of magnesium and aluminum, and a large number of tearing ridges appear in the transition layer near the aluminum side, there are a few brittle fractures between the ductile. The transition layer near the magnesium side has a large number of cleavage planes with a small number of dimples, and the brittle fracture is the main ductile fracture.
