Effects of Hot Deformation Treatment on Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of 22Cr Oxide Dispersion Reinforced Steel
Hot deformation was conducted on 22Cr-ODS steel prepared by hot isostatic pressing(HIP).The effects of hot deformation treatment on the microstructure and mechanical properties of 22Cr-ODS steel were studied by SEM and tensile tests. The results show that the morphologies of grains present the characteristic of block, also there exist continuous strip-like precipitates at grain boundaries, which deteriorates the performance of the steel and cause brittle fracture of as-HIPed steel. After the hot deformation, the grain size is greatly reduced. And the distribution of the precipitates is optimized. In addition, the yield strength, ultimate tensile strength and elongation have been improved. The fracture mode changes from brittle fracture to ductile fracture, but at the same time, there exists laminar cracks on the fracture surfaces, which are related to the temperature of thermal deformation and annealing time.
