Heterogeneous R&D and"Productivity Dilemma":The Moderating Effect of Government Support and Marketization
Based on the industrial"industry,region,year"three-dimensional panel data from 2001 to 2020,this paper em-pirically tests how to solve the"productivity dilemma"through precise government support and market-oriented measures. The research finds that:(1)Basic research is helpful in promoting the improvement of TFP,but there is a long time lag;ap-plied research has an inhibitory effect on TFP elevation;(2)Government support helps to better play the role of basic re-search in promoting TFP,and this role needs to be based on the premise that government support reaches a certain level;Reasonable government support will help to weaken the inhibitory effect of applied research on TFP,while excessive efforts will strengthen the inhibitory effect of applied research on TFP.(3)The improvement of the degree of marketization has no significant impact on the relationship between basic research and TFP but helps to alleviate the inhibitory effect of applied research on TFP.
