A Meta-analysis of the Relationship Between Regulatory Focus and Innovation
This paper analyzes the impact of promotion focus and prevention focus on innovation based on 69 and 66 inde-pendent samples,respectively,via meta-analysis,and then tests the moderate effect of the cultural context and design rigor.The results show that promotion focus has a positive impact on innovation,and individual promotion focus has a greater im-pact on innovation.Prevention focus has no significant impact on innovation,but there are significant differences between in-dividual and non-individual research.Moreover,in the context of eastern culture,promotion focus has a greater impact on innovation.The more serious the common method variance problem,the stronger relationship between the promotion focus and innovation.Furthermore,we used Meta-analysis Structural Equation Model(MASEM)to examine the mediation mechanism of individual promotion focus and innovation.Innovative self-efficacy plays a part of mediating role in the process of individual promotion focus influencing innovation.
